This November, Rajdhani Express to Arunachal Pradesh

To make travel more passenger-friendly, Arunachal has agreed to relax the rigid norm of inner-line permit, which is otherwise mandatory for “outsiders” entering the state.

Stay away from deception while selecting receiver: CM


Aadil Mir, Itanagar, Sep 12: Stressing on the importance of  Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in creating livelihood avenues in rural areas, particularly for people below poverty line, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki urged the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) officials to avoid duplicity while selecting beneficiaries as well implementing the schemes.

Telecom infrastructure project worth Rs 5300cr for NE cleared

Aadil Mir, New Delhi, Sep 10: NDA led union govt. approved an over Rs 5,300 crore project to boost telecom infrastructure and connectivity in the North East Region."The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today gave its approval for accomplish Comprehensive Telecom Development Plan for the North-Eastern Region (NER). The proposal entails an estimated expenditure of Rs. 5,336.18 crore" an official statement said.

Creating manpower without employment dangerous in long run: CM Nabam Tuki

Devesh Dubey, Itanagar, Sep 09: In line with stiff opposition from the China over the issue of external multi donor agency funding power projects in Indian Northeast states like Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, government of India has decided to fund interstate and intra state transmission line on its own. The project will costs around Rs 9877 Crore. The power ministry will soon convene a meeting of those opposing the 2000 MW Lower Subansari project along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border to break the logjam.

Arunachal Pradesh has most employed people in India

Devesh Dubey, Itanagar, Sep 09: With 66.91% hired workers Arunachal has highest proportion of amongst all the states of country. The stats cover service sectors like education and health and in which the percentage of female workers is 30.30%. Growth rate of establishments at all India level has been recorded at 41.73%, while at state level growth rate is 34.09%. The data is based on the highlights of provisional results of the Sixth Economic Census 2013 for Arunachal Pradesh released by Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi at his conference hall here today.

He was addressing the state level Steering-cum-Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) meeting on Mid-Day Meal Scheme, a National Flagship programme in Arunachal Pradesh. Negi said, “Central Assistance in the form of food grains and funds released to the implementing agencies should be utilized in an optimum manner”.

FILM FESTIVAL FOR NE BEGAN IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Devesh Dubey, New Delhi, Sep 03: The Film Festival for northeast The Travelling Players; began in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital Itanagar this week. This is the first time a film festival has travelled to Arunachal.The festival aims to inculcate in children an interest in cinema. Travelling to the remote and isolated pockets of the northeast, the festival is greatly anticipated. It will continue in Arunachal till September 6.
