About 4 Lakh students
enrolled in the primary to higher Secondary School and 0.32 Lakh students in
the Higher and Technical education.
The overall literacy
rate of 73% has inched closer to the national average of 74%, while in the
Higher and Technical Education.
In addition to the 12 colleges, one new
college has been established at Geku, 5 out of 14 sanctioned Polytechnics will
start from this year at Pasighat, Dirang, Laying, Roing and Namsai,
establishment of 6 model degree Colleges and another 3 are under consideration.
110 new Assistant
Professors have been recruited and posted in the colleges and the National
Institute of Electronics and Information Technology at Pasighat has been inaugurated
recently.
