ARUNACHAL PRADESH SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME: THE WAY FORWARD
India is a nation of young people - out of a population of above 1.1 billion, 672 million people are in the age-group 15 to 59 years, - which is considered as the “working age population”. This young population should be deemed as an invaluable asset which if equipped with knowledge and skills, can contribute effectively to the development of the national as well as the global economy.

CHIEF MINISTER’S AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN QUALITY EDUCATION
This
initiative encourages and recognizes the dedication of the Principals, Head
Masters and Teachers in schools.
Following awards will be given under this
program:
§ Best School Award - One in each District, Rs. 1 lakh each to be spent on skill based learning materials
§ Best Principal and Best Headmaster - Rs. 50,000 each
§ Two best male teachers and two best female teachers - Rs.50, 000 each
§ VIDYA scheme launched for unmarried girl students of Class VI for continuing school education. The scheme envisages an initial deposit of Rs 5000/ only in their account to be drawn with interest after passing class XII.
§ Sanitary napkins provided for better hygiene for female students, benefitting approximately 82,419 girls.

CHIEF MINISTER’S SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
It aims at improving employability of educated
unemployed youth.
Under this initiative, a Job Mela-cum-Skill Development
Interview Rally was organized from 30th August to 1st September 2013 at
Itanagar in which 9012 candidates registered and 1598 candidates were selected
and are currently undergoing training.
This programme intends to provide
employment to 6308 youths.
CHIEF MINISTER’S PARYATAN VIKAS YOJANA
Popularly referred to as ‘Paradise of the East’,
efforts are on to make Arunachal Pradesh the face of North East Tourism.
Launched
in 2012-13, CM’s Paryatan Vikas Yojana is providing 100 unemployed youths with
subsidized cabs to promote tourism entrepreneurship.
The government is
developing tourism infrastructure along with increasing the number of tourist
circuits in addition to opening Tourist Information centers.
