The eastern-most frontier
state, presently with 17 districts, will have 21 districts, once the new districts
come to existence. .
The state Legislative Assembly, in its session in March last year, had passed the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organization of Districts) (Amendment) Bill, 2013, paving way for creation of the four new districts — Kra Daadi, Namsai, Siang and Lower Siang districts.
With the Governor's assent, a notification in this regard would be issued soon.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in a statement said that the people's aspirations have been fulfilled at last.
"Ours is a pro-people government. Therefore all decisions are taken after taking into account the genuineness, necessity and popular demand of the people. Our decisions are not ours but of the people,"
