Under Nabam Tuki’s tenure the Centre approved 57 new roads in the State


The Union ministry of rural development's pre-empowered committee (EC) for the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has recommended approval of 57 road works covering a total of 842 km in Arunachal Pradesh. The EC's recommended that the 57 road projects, including 58 long-span bridges, will be constructed at a total cost of about Rs 819 crore.

Once completed, the road projects will provide connectivity to 170 rural habitations, many of them in remote areas. In a letter to 
Arunachal Pradesh CM Nabam Tuki, Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh said that of the 57 road works, 21 projects, including 46 bridges, are in areas along the India-China border.

Ramesh said that earlier the Miao-Mazgaon section of the 157-km Miao-Mazgaon-Gandhigram-Vijoynagar road up to the India-Myanmar border was cleared by the ministry
