can be effective only when human resource, the most important resource is
adequately capable and strengthened to achieve the goal.
The chief minister said that human resources
need to be properly oriented to ensure that the benefits reach the targeted
groups and result in better quality of life along with sustainability.
He
called for setting up of more extension training centres (ETCs) in the state as
training is the most important ingredient for success of the programme and
assured all possible support for strengthening the institutions, like SIRD, the
nodal agency for imparting RD related training.
Appreciating
the state government for devolving powers to the PRIs, RD Parliamentary
Secretary Punji Mara said that this has increased the responsibilities of the
PRI functionaries by manifolds. Therefore, their training is of immense
important without which success would remain a mirage.
He
exhorted all the participants to undergo the training with due seriousness so
that the objective of rural development is achieved in our land-locked state
where population are sparsely located in far-flung and remote areas.
The department has conducted extensive
trainings throughout the state to create awareness and impart basic knowledge
on RD programmes.
