Arunachal CM Discussed Vital Issues With Center

Aadil Mir, New Delhi, June 11: While drawing the attention of the Centre Nabam Tuki addressed several key issues confronting the state of Arunachal Pradesh, including border development and strengthening of police forces.
Chief Minister called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here to discuss several important issues related to the state.

While emphasizing the need to address critical challenges, Tuki pressed for enhancement of funds under Border Areas Development Programme (BADP), sanction for modernization of police forces, The Chief Minister also met Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju at his North Block office today.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister called on Union Minister of State for Finance, Commerce & Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman. Nabam Tuki submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister, and apprised her of the financial situation of the state and sought the intervention of the Union Finance Ministry for a ‘special’ financial package to tide over the financial challenges.

The Chief Minister also had a comprehensive discussion on enhancing the trade and commerce activities in the state with special reference to border trade. The reopening of the Stillwell Road and to develop the border infrastructure near Pangsau Pass were the key points.

The Union Minister assured that the Arunachal Pradesh section of the Stilwell Road will be given priority.
While outlining the prospective steps to augment the sector, 
Tuki requested the Union Minister to include this matter in the agenda for Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Bhutan.
