Film festival begins today in Arunachal Pradesh

Aadil Mir, ITANAGAR, June 17: The Parliamentary Secretary for IPR, Printing and Education Bamang Felix will be inaugurating the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) - Arunachal edition at Hotel Tosum Naharlagun today. Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Arunachal Pradesh is organizing the festival.
Like most film festivals, entry will be free for the viewers. The three-day festival “MIFF in Arunachal Pradesh” will screen selected and many award winning films of Mumbai International Film festival, featuring documentary, short and animation films.
“MIFF in Arunachal Pradesh’’ will showcase some of the finest cinematic works realized in the last eight years throughout the world and thus presents an opportunity for cinema lovers and children of the state to watch these films. Many local directors and producers of the state will also be attending the festival. The Festival will also features three documentary films  on Arunachal Pradesh.
It’s a maiden attempt in Arunachal Pradesh. The festival has already been organized in some of the North Eastern states like Sikkim, Maipur and Nagaland.


The Film titled, “The Little Terrorist (Oscar Nominated), directed by Ashvin Kumar will be the inaugural film of the festival.
