Aadil Mir, ROING, June 22: In a
significant development in Arunachal Pradesh
861 Solar Street Lights have been provided by Delhi based Rural Electrification Corporation Limited
(RECL) in remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh under a consultancy
service of Energy Efficiency Service Limited
(EESL) and with support from Arunachal
Pradesh Energy Development Agency.
It was a part of the nation-wide programme of
the power enhancer RECL under it Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Solar powered street lighting are environment
friendly, requires lesser maintenance and meet the need of locals in remote
areas which face problems of frequent power cuts and where there is no powers.
Delighted with the solar powered street lighting
system and appreciating the initiative of the RECL, Joseph Pertin, ASM
Parbuk-Bolik said that it has improved the village environment during night
hours and added quality to the life in villages. Amping Megu, Project Officer,
APEDA Roing informed that 466 sets have been provided to the Lower Dibang
Valley District and the installation is in progress.
