Education Minister Met Delegation Of Panchayat Leaders

Aadil Mir, ITANAGAR, June 23: A delegation of Panchayat leaders of 60th Pongchau-Wakka Constituency led by Matpho Kolong, ZPM of Wakka Block along with MLA Honchun Ngandam called on Education Minister Tapang Taloh recently to brief him about the education scenario in the area.
They informed the minister that though the Govt. Sec. schools of Pongchau and Wakka along with Govt. Middle School, Nginu were upgraded to Higher Secondary and secondary school respectively in 2009; however the schools have not been functioning due to lack of subject teachers and basic infrastructure. They further said that after the up-gradation of the schools, students of the area are not getting admissions in Govt. Higher Secondary Schools, Longding and Khonsa, which has better facilities.
The delegation appealed for immediate posting of subject teachers to the schools in the coming session. They also called for posting of full-fledged Principals, Vice Principals and Headmasters to the schools.
