New Ministers with New Responsibilities’ in Arunachal

The people of Arunachal gave a clear mandate to Congress and the party retained its majority in recently concluded assembly elections with a vote share of 49.5%. However, it won’t be as easy for Tuki led govt to fulfill the promises that have been made during the election campaign based on “a model of Good Governance”.
But there is one thing that people of Arunachal are sure of i.e. Nabam Tuki is a person who always listens to grievances of his people and ensures rapid solutions. His clean image and public connect gives him a favorable edge over his competitors.
Yesterday, Nabam Tuki allocated portfolios to his nine-member council of ministers, who were sworn in on June 1. People of the state are hopeful that the newly appointed cabinet will carry forward the model of Good Governance. There will be tremendous pressure on the ministers to maintain the standards which they have set already.
People of the state demand more transparency and sustained developmental policies. There are few concerns that government needs to work on. Primarily on issues such as employment generation, industrial growth and infrastructure development.

The State is in need of speedy industrial development, with a greater focus on MSME sector. Also, people of the state must be encouraged to participate in industrial development. The ministry of trade and commerce should facilitate easy loans and micro credit policies. The HRD Ministry should adopt a developmental model intended towards skill development of unemployed youth. This in turn will enhance the employability of youth. The ministry must also consider revision of wages for employees selected through skill development programmes on a regular basis. Also the quality of education at school level must be improved by employing well trained teachers. The health ministry of the state is expected to introduce multi specialty hospitals with 24X7 ambulance facility to provide better health care. General public are also looking forward to better road and infrastructure in state, henceforth the concerned ministry has a task cut out. People living in border areas, needs special attention from state Government and Government at the centre. State agriculture ministry must encourage farming by means of Kisaan Mela and similar initiatives. The power sector also needs focus, so that it can achieve its optimum potential.People of the state demand more transparency and sustained developmental policies. There are few concerns that government needs to work on. Primarily on issues such as employment generation, industrial growth and infrastructure development.

Thereby, fixing the accountability for every department will work to substantiate the claim of good governance. It’s high time for the Tuki government to fulfill the promises made during elections. So that Arunachal Pradesh development will take a new direction in terms of Infrastructure, Tourism, Culture etc and become a force to reckon with.
