Papu Valley Will Be Tourists’ Hotspot Locals Should Lend A Hand

Aadil Mir, ITANAGAR, June 25: Since Arunachal Pradesh is known for its screen view and Papu Valley better known as “rice bowl” of East Kameng. Papu river silently meandering through, the scenic beauty. Finally caught the attention of the tourism department as Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism Mama Natung and Secretary Tourism Dr. Joram Beda along with Govt officers visited the valley with a mission to access its tourism potentiality.
During their visit to the valley they addressed the locals and said that development cannot be possible in absence of peace and tranquility. Papu Valley can be favorite tourist spot if its tourism potential is properly harnessed, he said adding that proposal has already been sent to Delhi for development of the valley as one of the most attractive tourist destinations. Sensitizing the people, he cited Atithi Devo Bhavah, a campaign started by the Tourism Department, under Union Ministry of Tourism with the theme Incredible India, Natung added that for tourism promotion people of the valley need to be sensitized and develop friendly and hospitable nature towards tourists. Responding to note submitted by PRI leader seeking ample fund for tourism promotion of the valley, Parliamentary Secretary assured to look into each point of the representation.
Secretary Tourism Dr Joram Beda emphasized on the significance of road and communication in tourism promotion saying that without road infrastructure tourism development is not possible. Dr. Joram extolled the beauty of Papu valley and appealed to the people to preserve its natural beauty by refraining from unabated hunting of birds and animals. He urged the people to pay their attention towards tourism sector as the tourism is sustainable sector in terms of economic development.  
Apart from meandering Papu River, the valley is abounding with oxbow lakes, migratory birds and rich aquatic species.
