PWD minister reviewed ongoing projects calls for speedy completion.


Aadil Mir, Itanagar, June 14: Gojen Gadi PWD minister today reviewed all the on-going projects of the Eastern Zone, under all Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and other major heads today.

Reviewing the projects, Minister emphasized that all the on-going projects against which necessary fund is available should be completed as targeted. He also laid stress on the importance of timely submission of utilization certificates to facilitate timely release of subsequent installment(s).
Discussing projects sanctioned recently, the Minister said that the tendering process for award of work should be started and completed immediately so that execution starts in the month of September/October of the current financial year.
He took special note of the projects under flagship programme of the state Government.  There are eight flagship projects under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) in the Eastern Zone, PWD.
It was informed that the process of tendering and award of work has been started and shall be completed by the September, 2014.
Carrying on further, he suggested that the Chief Engineer(s) tour his area at least thrice in a year and Superintending Engineer(s), as frequently as possible. He also encouraged holding of review meetings at the level of the Superintending Engineer after every two months. Dwelling on the issue of ensuring requisite progress of projects under CSS, he instructed that monitoring of project-implementation should be done effectively and constantly.
Both the Minister and the Parliamentary Secretary also said that they were open to constructive suggestions and were ready to be co-operative with the engineers of the department.
